One of the most popular varieties worldwide. Relatively young variety, derived from a cross between an old French variety and the Cabernet Franc variety. In the region of Goumenissa it gives wines of high alcohol content with a soft taste and aromas of black fruits. Of the 15,000 hectares of the Greek Vineyard, about half are cultivated in northern Greece with Thessaloniki and Halkidiki being the regions with the largest areas.
The final stage requires the wine to remain in bottle for 6 months. The interventions during vinification are the minimum required in order for the wines to be able to evolve their character and express the authentic character of the terroir of Goumenissa.
Deep red color, rich and round body without strong tannins with low acidity and aromas of cherry, strawberry, pepper, mocha and vanilla.
It is served at 16-18⁰C and can be combined with red and white meats, as well as with dishes with red sauce.
